This module explores the coach’s role in managing and developing athletes across different stages of sport participation. Students will learn to recognise and support the cognitive, physical, and emotional needs of athletes while applying effective training principles. The module covers the design of speed, strength, and endurance programmes tailored to various age groups, emphasising safe progression and holistic athlete development. Students will also examine key aspects of individual and team management and reflective coaching practices. By integrating these concepts, students will develop the managerial and planning competencies required to prepare, engage, and guide athletes effectively within both training and competitive environments.
