OCTOBER 2021 — Hundreds of participants upskilled and completed competency training workshops, further driving digital literacy within the RP community.

Keeping up with the times today partly means having to go digital and be equipped with the tools to navigate cyberspace well.

With support from industry partners, RP held its second Digitalisation Day in October 2021, a one-day virtual event that aimed to drive digital transformation through innovation within the RP community. Over 300 staff took part in hands-on workshops, shared projects, and learned from industry speakers’ insights on digital transformation.

Representatives from leading technology companies and public institutions were invited to speak at the event. As Mr Fong Yew Chan says, “As part of our digitalisation efforts, we are steadfast in supporting and cultivating impactful partnerships with the industry. Digitisation Day Speakers

The RP community gained invaluable insights from distinguished speakers Mr Vivek Chatrath, Director, Small, Medium & Corporate Segment, Microsoft Singapore; Mr Wei Lai, Lead, Industry Engagement, National Digital Identity, Assurity Trusted Solutions Pte Ltd; and Dr Lam Shao Wei Sean, Head of Data Science, SingHealth, during their discussions

The five digital competency training workshops covered areas such as Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Low Code, Chatbot, and 3D Vista. Attendees experienced AI-powered intelligent search with Watson Discovery, interactive data dashboards with Tableau, and other cutting-edge digital technologies. These workshops are part of an ongoing effort to promote digital competencies, with 20 previous workshops conducted from March to August and an overall attendance of over 500 staff to date.

Recognition was given to the 67 innovative digitalisation projects from the 187 staff submissions as part of RP’s Digitalisation Challenge 2021. The focus areas of Analytics, Automation, and Infrastructure saw three grand winners, with a total of six special mention awards given out overall.

This successful Digitalisation Day charts another significant milestone for RP Transformation 2025 ― our five-year roadmap advocating lifelong learning, driving innovation, and accelerating digitalisation both within and outside the campus. Our progress would not have been possible without the support of our many valued partners. RP will continue working with more collaborators as we move forward on this transformative journey.
