To enhance farm productivity and strengthen local food resilience, RP’s AGRI Centre under the Urban Agriculture Centre of Innovation.
The collaboration focused on addressing key challenges such as soil imbalance, which had impacted both crop health and yield. Through dedicated research and development efforts, the AGRI Centre team formulated customised crop recipes and introduced targeted soil amendments — including the incorporation of locally sourced organic waste — to improve soil quality. The entire initiative was fully biobased centered, avoiding chemical inputs and emphasising sustainable farming practices.
A standout aspect of this partnership is the farm’s commitment to regenerative cultivation while remaining open to innovation. By integrating organic farming methods with new techniques, the farm continues to produce well-loved local greens such as naibai, spinach, and coriander, even amid rising energy costs.
This collaboration not only improved crop vitality and productivity but also contributed meaningfully to Singapore’s broader vision of food resilience. It showcases how industry-research-education partnerships can drive sustainable solutions, empower local farms, and support the development of a more robust and resilient food ecosystem for the community. The techniques and crop formulations developed have been licensed to the farm for ongoing commercial application, demonstrating the practical impact of RP’s applied research.
