RP School of Applied Science (SAS) collaborated with a leading pre-partum and post-partum wellness provider to co-develop a series of modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)–based functional products. With growing consumer interest in convenient, wellness-focused solutions, the project focused on translating traditional TCM knowledge into ready-to-eat and ready-to-drink formats that align with contemporary lifestyles.
Through this collaboration, RP’s research team developed three prototype formulations:
The team carefully selected TCM herbs based on their known functional properties. These herbs were processed using targeted extraction techniques to isolate key bioactive compounds, which were then incorporated into stable and palatable product prototypes. The formulations developed have since been commercialised by the industry partner, reflecting strong industry confidence in the scientific validation behind these products. This collaboration demonstrates how the RP SAS research team leverages applied research to modernise traditional practices and support industry innovation. By combining scientific expertise with TCM principles, the project has resulted in functional wellness products designed to meet today’s consumers' needs while preserving the essence of traditional herbal care.
