Its aquaculture has relied on generic marine carnivorous fish diets which are typically high in fish meal and fish oil, resulting in soaring feed costs. Additionally, generic feeds that are not specifically designed for the nutritional requirements of Malabar snappers result in inefficient nutrient utilisation, which can hinder the fish's growth and increase their susceptibility to diseases. However, with the introduction of this newly formulated feed, the abovementioned challenges can be mitigated, offering a solution that promotes optimal growth performance and enhances sustainability in Malabar snapper farming.
