This module provides students with a foundational understanding of terrestrial and freshwater ecology, biodiversity conservation, and wildlife management. Drawing and building upon previously learnt ecological concepts, students will delve into population dynamics, community ecology, and ecosystem functions within terrestrial and freshwater environments. Students will critically assess various monitoring techniques and management strategies essential for safeguarding biodiversity, with particular emphasis on wildlife management measures and the challenges associated with human-wildlife conflicts. Subsequently, students will gain insights into the multifaceted nature of environmental conservation and develop practical skills to actively contribute to its positive advancement.
