This module introduces students to the objectives of total rewards, pay structures and compensation design, pay-for-performance practices, employee benefits as well as total rewards administration. The students will learn practical skills such as defining and evaluating performance goals to support pay decisions, preparing salary proposals and total rewards budgets, handling Central Provident Fund and tax-related submissions and preparing payroll spreadsheets. In addition, they will evaluate current issues such as improving salaries of low-wage workers and consider how recommendations of the National Wage Council are implemented.
