This module provides a broad overview of airline and
ground handling operations, with emphasis on the
application of quantitative methods in the planning and
management of aviation ground handling operations.
The quantitative methods will be used in key topics such
as load planning and controlling, aircraft assignment,
routing and crew planning, aircraft delay management
and turnaround, forecasting and passenger queue
management, and fleet management and economics.
Students will be taught methods such as network flow
analysis, queuing theory and capacity forecasting.
Students will be equipped with fundamental knowledge
and analytical skills, which are essential in an airline or a
ground handling agent.
