This module introduces the basic concepts and techniques in quality and reliability engineering to equip students with the theoretical and practical tools, methods, principles, and techniques used in quality control and establishing product and system reliability. Topics covered include measurement system analysis, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and acceptance sampling. In terms of reliability engineering, students will learn techniques of measuring reliability, as well as statistical models in predicting reliability, reliability testing and design for reliability. Through this module, students will have a sound understanding of the principles in quality control and reliability engineering and the basis for applying them in a variety of situations.
