This module equips students with the foundational knowledge in robotics, covering stepper motors and servomotors, the anatomy and characteristics of different types of robots, and their applications. Practical sessions teach network setup for a robotic line, robot end-effector setup, robot programming and modelling, and systems integration will be covered in this module.
Students will also study how machine vision is used in robotic systems. Topics include image acquisition systems, lighting setups, image pre-processing techniques and image processing for analysis.
