The module will provide students with critical skills for ensuring the quality and safety of event setups. The focus is on integrating quality, environmental, health, and safety management systems (QEHS) throughout the design, production and build-up process. Students will learn the key principles in quality standards, safety management, hazards and risks, green management, health and safety plans, emergency response and crisis management and effective communication strategies to help them design and set up projects that not only meet industry standards but surpass them. The emphasis is on instilling a safety-first mindset, ensuring that event organisers prioritise the well-being of all stakeholders and participants during the execution of an event and its build-up. Upon completion of the module, students will be able to incorporate QEHS principles into all aspects of an event, cultivating a culture where safety is not merely a priority but the fundamental essence of any project.
