This module provides an integrated introduction to anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics as they relate to human movement. Students will examine how anatomical structure, mechanical function, and physiological processes interact to enable efficient and purposeful movement. The module introduces the body as a biological and mechanical system for work performance, emphasising muscle actions, joint mechanics, and movement efficiency. Students will apply these concepts in sport and exercise contexts to analyse, evaluate, and improve performance. Through practical examples and applied tasks, the module establishes a scientific foundation for understanding human movement and supports further study in sport science, coaching, and performance analysis.
