Introduction to Lighting equips students with the fundamental skills to safely hang, cable, and strike lighting fixtures for theatre and live entertainment.
Lessons cover both theory and practice including the functions and controllable qualities of light, interpretation of lighting plans, and preparation of related documentation.
Students gain hands-on experience in cable management, optics control of conventional fixtures, and the use of DMX functions to operate automated lighting systems. They also learn to articulate the roles of the Master Electrician, Programmer, and Lighting Designer within theatre and live-event contexts.
