T352 Writing for Screen
T352 Writing for Screen
Writing for Screen builds on students’ understanding of the basic principles of story to create complete, compelling narratives through the manipulation of sight and sound. The module leverages the guidance of lecturers with screenwriting experience to help students practice crafting visual narratives in the proper script formats.
Through a structured hands-on practice process, students are guided to write their own screenplays from conceptualisation to the final draft. Using various exercises and writing practicum, students will also learn the different requirements of writing visually in both the fiction and non-fiction arenas, while incorporating advanced narrative techniques. Whilst the writing assignments are done individually to ensure students feel a sense of ownership towards their stories, peer review and critique are highly regarded and thus integral to every lesson.
