Students will be equipped with an understanding of the basic principles of electricity and foundational skills in installing, operating, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment within theatre and ‘live’ entertainment contexts. This module aims to equip students with the technical skills required to be a theatre technician. Theoretical topics such as safety and load calculations, as well as practical skills like termination of cables and soldering, will be covered. Students will also learn to evaluate and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment found in theatre and ‘live’ entertainment venues.
