This module provides students with an understanding of the basic principles of electricity and foundational skills in installing, operating and maintaining electrical systems and equipment within theatre and ‘live’ entertainment contexts. The goal of the module is to equip students with the technical skills required to be a theatre technician. Students are taught theoretical topics such as safety and load calculations, as well as practical skills such as termination of cables and soldering. Students will also learn to evaluate and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment found in theatre and ‘live’ entertainment venues.
