RP received the Exercise Is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) Gold Level Recognition
In 2021, RP was awarded the ‘Gold Level Recognition’ by Exercise Is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC). This is the highest level of recognition given to any pre-university campus outside of the United States. The EIM-OC is an international recognition of campuses that encourage collaborations between faculty members and the community to bring initiatives relating to exercise, health, and other related-disciplines, to build a healthier environment on campus
In the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic, RP's School of Sports Health and Leisure produced many online activities and digital content to reach out to public, staff and students to help them keep up with physical activity at home, and raised self-awareness on mental and emotional well-being and to eat healthier. A host of fitness activities such as ‘BRAG Home Challenges’ and ‘Staff Wellness Hour’, and health webinars such as ‘Sedentary Behaviour and Healthy Eating’ and Developing Mental ‘Resilience in the age of COVID-19’ were a few initiatives that helped RP attained the Gold level recognition from the Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) program.
