What You Will Learn

Renamed from Diploma in Health Management & Promotion

The Diploma in Sports & Health (DSH) will equip students with the knowledge and skills essential in the Sports Management and Health Coaching industry. Students will be introduced to a broad range of sports- and health-related modules in their first year and are required in their second year to select a Major in either Sports Management or Health Coaching.

Students who select a Major in Sports Management will deepen capabilities in conceptualising, marketing, and executing sports events at both national and community levels which is backed by strong sports business administration and sports law. In addition, they will acquire competencies in managing sports facilities and promote uptake of physical activity of Singaporeans as a whole.

Students who select a Major in Health Coaching will develop expertise in evidence-based behaviour change models to motivate sustainable lifestyle changes and acquire capabilities to conceptualise and implement health promoting programmes in the community.

At the end of the 3-year programme, the DSH graduate will develop a broad range of skills in the sports and health domains and deepen their capabilities in either the Sports Management or Health Coaching field, bringing forth a healthier Singapore.

Working in a team setting during my time in RP has helped me tremendously in my personal growth. I’ve developed stronger communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. The modules I’ve learnt provided me with a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of holistic lifestyle intervention. If you’re interested in promoting health and are passionate about positive behavioural change, being a health coach might be your calling as well!

RP graduates are well-placed to embark on meaningful careers, immediately after graduation. They could even improve their employability by taking part-time courses or SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes (WSPs). 

What’s more, every RP diploma is recognised and has a pathway leading to a relevant degree with top local and overseas universities. RP graduates may complete their degrees in just over two or three years in a four-year programme. 

Skills Deepening
