At AFTEA 2025, UACOI showcased a total of 12 agritech research projects and ready innovations that can transform urban agriculture. Visitors explored our latest innovations, including IoT-enabled sustainable aquaponics systems, innovative energy reduction solutions, seedling health management techniques, and AI-based pest detection tools, which are designed to enhance sustainability and productivity of urban farms.
We were honoured by the visit of Minister Grace Fu, who engaged with our team on advancing agritechnology to benefit and transform Singapore’s urban farms. Her presence underscored the importance of collaboration between academic researchers and industry in building resilience and sustainability in urban agriculture to assure food security in Singapore.
The event also featured an insightful talk by Dr Bhalla and Mr Kumar, who shared perspectives on emerging trends, sustainable practices, and future opportunities in urban farming. Their session sparked meaningful discussions among industry leaders and innovators.
At our booth, UACOI innovators delivered Tech-talks, sharing the cutting-edge solutions they have developed and exploring the latest trends and innovations that are elevating plant quality and revolutionising the future of farming.
UACOI aims to play a key role in achieving Singapore’s 2035 targets for local fibre and protein production by supporting local farms and agritech companies to innovate in advanced cultivation methods and sustainable technologies to strengthen resilience in food production.
