Singapore Food Agency (SFA), in partnership with the Urban Solutions and Sustainability Innovation & Enterprise Office (USS IEO) and in collaboration with the Urban Agriculture Centre of Innovation (UACOI), NUS Enterprise, and the Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation Limited (SAFEF), successfully organised the workshop titled “Understanding Your Farm’s Resource Consumption” on May 10, 2024.
The workshop serves as a platform for the exchange of practical agritech and best practices among participants to address challenges in farm resource management. Key highlights of the event include the introduction by SFA on farm resource framework and the Agri-food Cluster Transformation (ACT) Fund which is pivotal for farms seeking financial support for capability upgrading, innovation test bedding and technology upscaling to attain resource efficiency. UACOI also shared its capabilities to co-innovate with farms and agritech providers in the field of CEA, nutrient optimisation, smart farming, and support farms in the implementation of Singapore Clean and Green Urban Farms certification to attain farm sustainability.
The panel discussion, moderated by Ms Khoo Gek Hoon, Director of UACOI, was a cornerstone of the workshop. Esteemed panelists Mr Jack Moy (CEO, Sustenir), Mr Ray Poh (Founder, Artisan Green), Mr Kee Boon Hian (Founder, BlueAcres), and Mr Edwin Ong (Founder, Arianetech), engaged in a dynamic dialogue, exploring the challenges of resource consumption and the potential of innovative solutions to address these issues.
The event also featured lightning talks and exhibitions by Signify, Archisen, Siemens, KA3 Technologies, and Kinross sharing their cutting-edge technologies such as efficient LEDs, comprehensive farm management solution, autonomous robots, and microbial based bio-stimulants designed to revolutionise agricultural practices and resource management.
