We’re excited to share the highlights from our recent Agrifood Research and Innovation Showcase (ARIS), where a diverse group of professionals came together to explore the future of urban agriculture in Singapore. The ARIS’s theme focused on the farmers and market requirements, innovations and practices that can lead to higher yielding, higher-quality, nutritious, and more resilient crops in ensuring sustainable urban agriculture. We were thrilled to welcome a dynamic mix of attendees, including experts from various sectors such as farmers, agritech innovators, retailers and buyers, researchers and educators and government agencies.
The event featured a series of insightful presentations both from AGRI Centre (UACOI) and our esteemed guest speakers on topics such as market demand on local produce, desirable crop traits to meet resource and climate challenges in urban agriculture, advanced crop breeding techniques, and cutting-edge agritech solutions for sustainable production of high yield and quality crops. Attendees had the opportunity to get insights into the latest research, hear from successful case studies, and explore new technologies that are set to revolutionise local crop production. The collective expertise and enthusiasm of the audience in exchanging their views with the guest speakers have made the event an engaging and productive one. The exchange of ideas and experiences will undoubtedly drive greater collaborations and innovations in the development of superior crops for urban agriculture.
A special thanks to our guest speakers – Mr. Ken Cheong (SAFEF), Ms. Chitra Radhakrishnan (ComplyAsia), Dr. Narendra Kumar Singh (Hi-Rich Seeds), and Dr. Pratibha Ravindran (GIS-A*Star) for speaking at our event. We would also like to extend our gratitude to all our participants for their continual contributions. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build on the momentum from this inspiring event.
