360 Video Creation for Immersive Experiences

This one-day course will give participants experience in planning, shooting and editing for 360 video also called spherical or immersive video. Participants with some experience using video recording equipment and video editing software will be able to compare how this new medium differs from the traditional practices.

This course includes hands-on handling of consumer and advanced cameras for creating 360 video footage then manipulating the 360 video footage so that it can be experienced using typical VR headsets as well as other online media platforms. Participants will also develop skills for positioning scene elements and directing movement to play well within the field of view of an immersive VR environment.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants would understand immersive blocking of scenes, how to creating viable 360 videos for use in VR experiences and would have some basic proficiency in creating such experiences.

Who should attend?

This course is highly recommended for camera operators, videographers and transmedia content-creators who are interested in creating 360 video for media distribution and immersive experiences.

Entry Requirement

Participants are expected to have basic experience using video-recording equipment, video-editing software such as iMovie and Adobe Premiere and basic understanding of terminology used in video production, in areas such as camera movements, shot sizes, framing and video-editing.

Certification

Certificate of Attendance awarded by Academy of Continuing Education, Republic Polytechnic.
