Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) up to 7kg Multirotor (Practical Training with Assessment)

Are you planning to apply for the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Class A Rotorcraft Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) to operate a multirotor up to 7kg?

This five-day practical course is designed to prepare participants for the UAPL assessment – a requirement if you are planning to fly UA commercially.

On top of the training provided, you will get two attempts at the Class A Rotorcraft UAPL (up to 7kg multirotor) assessment, conducted by our Authorised Flight Examiners (AFEs).

Note:
This course is conducted by CAAS approved instructors/AFEs who are existing UAPL holders, with at least five years of experience in UA flight operation and teaching, on average.

You are recommended to take and pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test prior to attending this course.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to operate a multirotor UA of up to 7kg competently. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas:

  1. Operating a UA system

  2. Pre-flight and post-flight checks of the UA, with reference to the Original Equipment Manufacturer documents and training manuals

  3. Smooth and controlled flying of the following manoeuvres without Global Positioning System assistance:

    • Precision hovering at different orientations

    • Straight and level circuits

    • Climbing and descending circuits

    • Figure of “8”

    • Precision landing

  4. Mission planning procedures via ground control system and able to execute/modify mission during flight

  5. Emergency procedures:

    • Immediate landing

    • Abort of landing

    • Emergency stop

    • Return to home

Who Should Attend?

New Class A Rotorcraft UAPL applicants with no prior UA experience planning to operate multirotor of up to 7kg for commercial purpose.

Entry Requirement

You are expected to have a good command of the English Language, and be at least 16 years old at the point of application.

You are recommended to take and pass the CAAS UAPL Theory Test prior to attending this course.

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

Your results will be submitted to CAAS at the end of the course, upon passing the assessment for Class A Rotorcraft (up to 7kg multirotor) UAPL.
