Class A Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) up to 7kg Multirotor (Assessment only)

Are you planning to renew your existing Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Class A Rotorcraft Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) up to 7kg multirotor limitations? This two-hour Class A Rotorcraft (up to 7kg multirotor) assessment/proficiency check is for you!

Participants will be assessed by CAAS approved Authorised Flight Examiners (AFE) who are existing UAPL holders with at least five years of teaching and Unmanned Aircraft (UA) experience.

CAAS UAPL Requirements

Participants are strongly encouraged to complete a training programme with any CAAS-approved UA Training and Assessment Organisation (UATO) to acquire the relevant practical knowledge before attempting the practical assessment.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the assessment/proficiency check, participants will be able to demonstrate proficiency for CAAS Class A Rotorcraft (up to 7kg multirotor) in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge on operating UA system

  2. Pre-flight and post-flight checks of the UA, with reference to the Original Equipment Manufacturer documents and training manuals

  3. Smooth and controlled flying of the following manoeuvres without Global Positioning System assistance:

    • Precision hovering at different orientations

    • Straight and level circuits

    • Climbing and descending circuits

    • Figure of “8”

    • Precision landing

  4. Mission planning procedures via ground control system and able to execute/modify mission during flight

  5. Emergency procedures:

    • Immediate landing

    • Abort of landing

    • Emergency stop

    • Return to home

Who Should Attend?

Existing Class A Rotorcraft UAPL holders with 7kg multirotor limitation intending to renew their UAPL.

Entry Requirement

Participants are expected to have a good command of the English language, and be at least 16 years old at the point of application, with an existing CAAS Class A Rotorcraft (up to 7kg multirotor) UAPL.

For new CAAS Class A Rotorcraft (up to 7kg multirotor) applicants, only those who have passed the CAAS Theory Test are eligible for this course.

Certification

Class A Rotorcraft (Up to 7kg multirotor) assessment results will be submitted to CAAS for all successful participants at the end of the course.
