Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) for Helicopter (Practical Training with Assessment)

Already a holder of Class A Rotorcraft Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) for up to 25kg multirotor and looking to lift the multi-rotor limitations for your UAPL?

Approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), this three-day practical course is designed to help you prepare for your next step, which is to pass the Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter) UAPL assessment.

As part of the course, you will also get two attempts at the assessment, conducted by our Authorised Flight Examiners (AFEs), upon completion of the UAPL training.

Note:
This course is run by CAAS approved instructors/AFEs who are existing UAPL holders, with at least five years of experience in UA flight operation and teaching, on average.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to operate a helicopter UA competently. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas:

  1. Operating a UA system

  2. Pre-flight and post-flight checks of the UA, with reference to the Original Equipment Manufacturer documents and training manuals

  3. Smooth and controlled flying of the following manoeuvres without Global Positioning System assistance:

    • Precision hovering at different orientations

    • Straight and level circuits

    • Precision landing

Who Should Attend?

Existing Class A Rotorcraft UAPL holders of up to 25kg multirotor who plan to operate a helicopter or multi-rotor UA with no limitations.

Entry Requirement

You are expected to have a good command of the English language, and be at least 16 years old at the point of application.

You must possess a valid Class A Rotorcraft (up to 25kg multirotor) UAPL.

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

Your results will be submitted to CAAS at the end of the course, upon passing the assessment for Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter).
