RP Unmanned Aircraft Basic Training

If you are operating or flying an unmanned aircraft (UA) or drone weighing between 1.5kg and 7kg for recreational or educational purpose, this is a mandatory course for you.

Approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), this two-hour self-paced online learning course will equip you with fundamental knowledge to fly UA safely and responsibly.

An online quiz, comprising 20 multiple choice questions, must be taken as part of the course to demonstrate the attainment of knowledge. All questions must be answered correctly. You have unlimited attempts for the quiz.

Note:
This course must also be completed within 60 days of signing up to receive the CAAS recognised UA Basic Training (UABT) e-certificate.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Comply with CAAS Air Navigation Act, Air Navigation Requirements-101 and other associated advisory circulars for safe and responsible UA operations

  • Understand basic aeronautical and technical knowledge of UA including the functionality of various UA components and systems

  • Adopt the necessary safety procedures and understand how human performance affects the operations of UA 

Who Should Attend?

Individuals who intend to operate UA weighing between 1.5kg and 7kg, for recreational or educational purpose.

Entry Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old at the point of flying the UA.

Certification

You will be awarded a CAAS recognised UABT e-certificate upon completion of the course.
