Lean Six Sigma Methods introduces the fundamental concepts of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. It covers the understanding of Lean manufacturing in the area of waste elimination, value stream management, and the tools and methods for improving process flow.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the module, participants will be able to:

Acquire skills in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to select Lean projects to meet Lean Six Sigma goals

Evaluate a process using Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC to optimize efficiency

Identify and analyze sources of variation in processes

Select and use appropriate Lean tools (OEE, TPM, ZDQ and 5S etc.) to evaluate and improve processes
This module is selected from the Diploma in Engineering (Operations and Engineering Management). It enables participants to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills without the need to pursue a full part-time diploma. Further, participants may choose to complete the remaining modules within the validity period, of 5 years, to be awarded the full Part-time Diploma qualification.
