Financial Literacy for Youths (FLY) 2024

Preparing our students not only for academic success but also for thriving in their personal lives.

As part of our commitment to community engagement and educational excellence, our Common Business Programme (CBP) students and lecturers organised a dynamic Financial Literacy Event for Youths (FLY), specifically tailored for secondary school students. The initiative, led by our dedicated CBP students, bridged the gap of Students Teaching Students.

On 13 July 2024, 60 CBP student volunteers and lecturers spearheaded FLY with the aim of promoting financial awareness amongst secondary school students through interactive and engaging games. The event was a success, with approximately 70 participants gaining knowledge from the initiative.

The event aimed to equip secondary school students with essential financial skills that are crucial for their future, covering topics such as savings, budgeting, insurance, and loans. The CBP students not only were able to learn and share their knowledge and experiences as instructors to the secondary school students but were able to grow and demonstrate their leadership qualities as they extended their collaborative learning across the different classes. Participants shared their overwhelmingly positive feedback about the benefits they received from the event with many others expressing newfound confidence and interest in financial management.
