Caregiver Basic Course

This Caregiver Basic workshop is a 2 day programme for new caregivers to learn how to care for the seniors and manage their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).

This course give participants an overview of the important techniques and useful tips to assist them in their caregiver journey so that they will be able to create a safe and comfortable environment to their care recipient and themselves.  

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to

  • Manage the behaviour of seniors
  • Assist the seniors to deliver care for the seniors competently and safely
  • Perform ADLs in a safe and comfortable manner. Such ADLs include eating, mobility and transfer, fall prevention, toileting 

Who should attend?

Anyone who wants to learn basic caregiver skills and knowledge, to better care of the frail elderly or disabled person

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
