The Science of Video-based Analysis in Sports - Notational Analysis

This is an intermediate course in match analysis using video-based technology tools in sports. Participants will learn how to apply basic data analytics in sports. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice with top-notch software used by many professional clubs to improve their teams’ performance. 

At the end of the course, participants will also receive an internationally-recognised certificate as a Dartfish Performance Analyst (Notational Analysis) if they meet the additional requirements provided in the course.

Learning Objectives

Participants will apply the concepts of sports analysis and data analytics to enhance coaching and provide relevant feedback to sports teams.

Students will learn the:

  • technological tools used in match analysis
  • live videoing, match tagging, and data analysis
  • process of creating video highlights
  • interpretation of match data
  • cloud-based video management and data sharing   

Who should attend?

Sports coaches, sports analysts and physical education teachers

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

Participants will be awarded the Dartfish Performance Analyst – Certified User by Dartfish SA if they meet the minimum requirements of the mini-project.
