A group of four second-year students from the Diploma in Mass Communication (DMC) won first runner-up at the SUSS Brand Challenge 2024. They were rewarded with shopping vouchers and each team member received provisional offer of admission into the full-time Bachelor of Science in Marketing with Minor programme at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
The competition, organised annually by SUSS, challenged polytechnic students to develop a brand strategy for a social enterprise client, SG Assist, to drive awareness and increase sign-ups for its services and volunteering network.
They went head-to-head against 50 teams from the different polytechnics to emerge second place in the finals held in September. The judges gave positive feedback to the team, sharing that their solution resonated with the brand. The judges also commented that the team’s presentation was refreshing, and they could envision the campaign coming to life.
This is the fifth time in SUSS’ six runs of this competition that students from DMC have been on the podium – a remarkable achievement for our students.
