Congratulations to Team Social Dive for placing third at the Social Innovation Relay 2015 national finals!

A total of 52 student teams participated in the national heats of the global social entrepreneurship youth competition, which was jointly organised by Junior Achievement and Barclays this year.

Team Social Dive was one of 10 teams – and the only polytechnic team – selected to present their social business idea at the finals on 12 June 2015 at Marina Bay Financial Centre. The judging panel comprised of managing directors from Barclays.

The four Year 2 Diploma in Social Enterprise Management students – Celestine Low, Lydia Peh, Victoria Phua, and team leader Nadhirah Khaliq – impressed the judges with their innovative Health Ultimate Support Band (or HUS-Band, for short) business concept.

HUS-Band is a smartwatch envisioned to help the elderly track their fitness and health as well as ease the burden on their caregivers.

For placing third, Team Social Dive received trophies as well as books on social innovation and social entrepreneurship worth over $500.
