A student team from RP School of Management and Communication (SMC) placed second in the recently-concluded Project Rookie case competition organised by the Singapore Management University Business Society, better known as Bondue.

Team Remarkable consisted of five final-year students from both the Diploma in Consumer Behaviour and Research (DCBR) and the Diploma in Human Resource and Management with Psychology (DHRMP):

  • Jerold Tan (DCBR)
  • Jack Lim (DCBR)
  • Ooi Shi Ming (DCBR)
  • Nur Syafiqah Rodriques (DCBR)
  • Poh Yong Shun (DHRMP)

Project Rookie is a community service project by Bondue aimed at imparting basic business management skills to local polytechnic students.

Participants attend weekly workshops conducted by successful business professionals and entrepreneurs, before culminating in a business plan competition where they put into use and showcase the skills that they learnt.

Team Remarkable was one of just five teams shortlisted, out of 20 teams in total, to present their business idea to combat obesity in Singapore at this year’s finale.

Judges were impressed by Team Remarkable’s sound consumer research and strong and engaging presentation style. The group was also commended on their product idea, PRODUCT NAME, which the judges felt clearly considered and addressed the needs of their target audience.

The win serves to validate the two months of multi-tasking and hard work put in by the team, who were all on internship attachments but frequently met after office hours to work on their pitch and presentation.
