DMC comes in second in its first-ever PR and marketing competition

A team of Diploma in Mass Communication (DMC) students came in second place in the first public relations (PR) and marketing competition the diploma has ever participated in.

Team #YouSureOrNot beat 23 other teams from more established communications schools, like Singapore Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic, to place second at the Singapore Cancer Society Inter-Polytechnic Smoke-Free Competition.

The win saw PR and Marketing Communications track students Macatula Lenz Angelo Dela Cruz, Loh Jia Hui Celesta, Ummairah Bte Shariff, and Kevin Brendan Raj Kumar walk away with the Excellent Award trophy and $800 in shopping vouchers.

Guided by lecturer Mr Firdaus Ghani, the team’s marketing campaign to discourage youths from picking up smoking included a hilarious minute-long video, filmed in RP’s very own Media Lab.

The campaign also incorporated OTHER MARKETING ELEMENT.
