This year, a team of Year 2 Diploma in Consumer Behaviour & Research students participated in Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) 2019. YFC is a community initiative that was started by Citi and the YMCA of Singapore in 2003. Funded by Citi Foundation, the programme promotes social entrepreneurship and develops community leadership among Singapore youths.

The beneficiary that team proposed to work with was the Singapore Association for the Deaf. The team aimed to raise awareness of the daily challenges faced by the deaf community. The team was selected as one of the top 100 teams to be given Citi-YMCA funding to implement their proposal. From May till August this year, the students participated in boot camps and planned events and activities to achieve their aim.

Out of 100 YFC teams, our students clinched the Merit Award. This award recognises their commendable efforts in the YFC 2019 programme. It is heartening to see our students demonstrate their passion for the community.
