RP’s Team Eliminator emerged as the first-runner up in the Micron NUS ISE Business Analytics Case Competition 2020
The Micron NUS ISE Business Analytics Case Competition 2020 was held earlier in July this year. It was a collaboration between the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) and Management from National University of Singapore (NUS), together with Micron Technology.
Team Eliminators from Republic Polytechnic (RP) emerged as the first runner-up in the competition. The group was made up of students from School of Management and Communication (SMC) and School of Engineering (SEG):
Their innovative ideas, in-depth analysis, and well-written report outperformed more than 80 teams in the Pre-University category, which was mostly made up of participants from top junior colleges.
Participants were given the chance, for the first time in this year’s run, to solve real-world challenges and learn about industrial practices and systems engineering. Students were required to analyse a case scenario and identify factors that affect the front-end cycle time. Then, they were required to propose and justify desired solutions based on extensive research and comprehensive analysis through the application of tools and techniques in the area of operations management.
