At RP, we believe education plays a crucial role in shaping values and behaviours towards a sustainable future. We want to inspire a sense of responsibility and care for the environment by teaching and giving our people the knowledge, values and skills to make a positive impact and contribute to a green economy.
We are making significant strides in infusing sustainability into our curriculum. Sustainability topics are infused into both Year 1 and higher-year modules, empowering students to devise innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges. For instance, sustainability themes are integrated into core modules for all Year 1 Pre-employment Training (PET) students, while advanced modules are customised to align with their respective fields of study. These modules foster critical thinking abilities essential for tackling global issues, considering the diverse societal impacts of environmental concerns across various global contexts.
All seven schools in RP offer sustainability-themed modules that are tailored to their specific areas of study. Students who are from different diploma courses and keen on sustainability can choose modules with a similar theme, expanding their knowledge beyond their specific disciplines.
We prioritise the continuous enhancement of our staff's knowledge in environmental sustainability. Through a series of events and initiatives, we aim to expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise in this critical area. By empowering staff through professional development opportunities, we enable them to design and deliver educational experiences that nurture our students into advocates of sustainability within their chosen disciplines.
RP is dedicated to expanding environmental sustainability in our curriculum. We plan to integrate it into elective courses, majors, and minors within PET diploma programmes. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive education in environmental sustainability for all students, cultivating their understanding and advocacy within their chosen disciplines.
