Applied Learning in Traditional Chinese Health and Wellness series (Bird’s Nest)

Bird Nest Short Course 2

Be equipped with knowledge of Bird’s Nest and how it can be used as a form of food therapy.

Participants will learn the use of Bird’s Nest as part of a wellness diet and how to prepare healthy nutritional meals using Bird’s Nest as an ingredient. The knowledge, skills and experience gained from the course can prepare participants to provide recommendations and advice on the nutritional benefits of Bird’s Nest.

This course is part of a series of applied learning in traditional Chinese health and wellness products to foster and instil knowledge and skills among our participants. 

 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the nutritional benefits and healthy uses of Bird’s Nest
  • Appreciate the use of Bird’s Nest as a form of food therapy and wellness diet
  • Discover the methods to prepare healthy and nutritious dishes using Bird’s Nest as an ingredient
  • Recommend and advice on traditional health products like Bird’s Nest

Who Should Attend?

Healthcare research and development staff, herbalists, nutrition advisors, meal-planners, food retailers, food manufacturers or individuals who interested to work in traditional healthcare industry.

This course is also beneficial for individuals who are looking to acquire skills in wellness for their own personal development.

Entry Requirement 

Participants should be conversant in the English language. 

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

Trainer's Profile

Tee pic
With a Food Science degree from NUS and a Specialist Diploma in Cosmetics Science, Tee has worked as a Nutrition and Skincare Consultant as well as Lecturer for Diploma programme specialising in Skin and Nutrition Science. With more than 17 years of experience in consultation and teaching, he has also conducted various public talks, short seminars and workshops for companies and organisations.

Tee has also been a regular guest interviewee on local media, such as Body SOS and Get Fit with Me on Channel 8 on nutrition topics and healthy eating. He strongly believes that nutritional knowledge is not hard science and should be shared to everyone to achieve healthier life.  

Tee has completed the Master of Human Nutrition with Deakin University, Australia. He is currently working in the team of Diploma of Wellness and Hospitality Business at Republic Polytechnic and actively sharing his knowledge with the students as well as fellow colleagues.
