As people are increasingly becoming more aware of personal wellness, and even placing it on a higher priority in their lives, there has a corresponding rise in demand for wellness professionals who are able to plan, develop, conduct and evaluate health-related wellness programmes.
This course helps participants develop a deeper understanding of evidence-based dietary, fitness and wellness programmes, and health services. They will be able to look at various assessment data points and propose lifestyle or nutrition adjustments or recommendations to match the needs of their clients. Participants will also gain hands-on experience in the various tools and equipment used in the wellness and lifestyle industry.
Spa and Wellness companies to offer Place-and-Train opportunities, as well as Wellness Work Experience Programme during the training period. Interested applicants who wish to experience the industry can register their interest with the trainer during the course.
Learning Objectives / 学习目标
Participants will deepen their knowledge in various aspects such as healthy eating, weight management, stress management and fitness assessment. Practical lessons in professional client consultation will also be conducted as it is a necessary component in the wellness industry.

This course is also beneficial for individuals who are looking to acquire skills in wellness programming and consultation for their own personal development.
Entry Requirement / 课程要求
Participants should be conversant in the English language. They should also be reasonably fit and able to move without aid.
For the course intake in Mandarin, participants should possess basic understanding and ability to converse in Mandarin.
Certification / 证书
Participants will be awarded a Professional Certificate in Wellness Programming and Consultation
issued by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 75% of the attendance requirement and successful completion of the course requirements, passing of both practical and theory assessments.
Trainers' Profiles / 培训师简介
Tee Chee Hoo
With a Food Science degree from NUS and a Specialist Diploma in Cosmetics Science, Tee Chee Hoo has worked as a Nutrition and Skincare Consultant, as well as Lecturer for Diploma programme specialising in Skin and Nutrition Science. With more than 17 years of experience in consultation and teaching, he has also conducted various public talks, short seminars and workshops for companies and organisations.
Tee has also been a regular guest interviewee on local media, such as Body SOS, and Get Fit with Me on Channel 8, sharing nutrition topics and healthy eating. He is a firm believer that nutritional knowledge is not hard science, and should be shared with everyone to achieve healthier life.
Tee has completed the Master of Human Nutrition with Deakin University, Australia. He is currently teaching in Republic Polytechnic, actively sharing his knowledge with students, as well as fellow colleagues.
Dianna Lui has more than 20 years’ experience as a professional in healthcare of
TCM and Western medicine, specialising in wellness treatments. She has international wellness certifications from ITEC UK, IFPA, CIDESCO, and is also a member of the "International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists".
She started her career as a specialist Pediatrician in China. She is now a certified Acupuncturist by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Board of the Ministry of Health Singapore and a member of Association for Promoting Chinese Medicine.
As a spa consultant, she was involved with project management, training and education, operational audit and follow-up of operational standards implementation. Some of her past projects include SPAcademy by Raffles international, and several five-star hotel spas.
Dianna was involved in the initial development of Singapore WSQ Skills Development Programme and was one of the developers and chief editors of the Standard of "Spa Therapist Skills Requirements of China”.
She is also an educator and actively participates in the promotion of spa and wellness programmes, participated in healthcare activities organised by "Senior Center" and Residents’ Committee. She was interviewed by "Lianhe Zaobao" and "Asia Spa" magazine and participated in the 95.8 radio station for health and wellness radio program.
Chan Wai Yee
Receiving her MBA (BSocSc in Psychology) from the University of Warwick in UK and BA (Economics) from National University of Singapore, Chan Wai Yee has more than 30 years of global business development experience, spanning Asia to Europe, focusing on the growth of people and new markets.
She is also certified in coaching and holistic healthcare practices in Nutrition, Naturopathy (UK) and Acupuncture (Singapore & China).
Being a Performance Coach with Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute (JJHPI), a science-based energy management forerunner with over 40 years of proprietary research in the USA, Chan is confident in conducting coaching and workshop facilitation with MNCs and entrepreneurs.
