Intermediate Sport Science (ISS)

The Intermediate Sport Science course is designed to equip participants with the sport science knowledge to coach competitive athletes in their early years of competition. 

Learning Objectives

The course learning objectives will be covered under the following 7 modules:

  • Module 1: Exercise and Sport Science
  • Module 2: Sport Physiology
  • Module 3: Anatomy and Injury Prevention
  • Module 4: Sport Biomechanics
  • Module 5: Sport Psychology
  • Module 6: Sport Nutrition
  • Module 7: Strength and Conditioning

Who should attend?

Entry Requirement

To be eligible to undertake SGC Theory Level 2 /Intermediate Sport Science course, a coach must:

  • Submit a valid Sportsync NROC e-card that reflects “Coach” as status
  • Be actively coaching in order to be able to develop a work-based portfolio for this course
  • Have at least 2 years of coaching experience

If any of the above requirements are not met, RP and SportSG reserve the right to not issue you a certificate.

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement issued by Sport Singapore and Republic Polytechnic upon completing the required e-learning, , classroom sessions, an MCQ exam, and a portfolio that documents application of sport science in the workplace.
