Congratulations to Lee Tong En, Regan, Lam Heng Yee, and Ng Jia Wen from Team Ameliarator for winning the second place in recent ideas!SLAM competition 2021!

ideas!SLAM is the largest pre-University idea-hackathon in Singapore to encourage youths across polys, ITEs, junior colleges, and Millennia Institute to foster an entrepreneurship spirit, by coming together to build and pitch their ideas to develop innovative solutions.

The competition’s Challenge Statement is “How might we use Digitalization to help Singapore achieve its Green Plan 2030 goals of creating a sustainable city and community”.  The team of Year 2 students from the Diploma in Business Information Systems worked hard over the December term break with their trainer Ms Mary Yeo, and prepared their pitch well to articulate their ideas to the judges.

The team proposed using a mobile app to encourage people of all ages to reduce, reuse and recycle, making it easy and convenient for users to do their part for environmental good. The idea won much applause from the judges.

The competition is sponsored by JP Morgan, and supported by Microsoft Singapore. The coordinating polytechnic is Ngee Ann Polytechnic - The Sandbox, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Office.
