Facial recognition refers to the capability to identify or verify a person. As a technology, facial recognition systems are applied in many various settings today, from the unlocking of your mobile phone to secure access to buildings and policing and investigation surveillance. The key technology behind facial recognition systems today is Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In this Applied Learning Module (ApLM), you will be introduced to an application of AI in the form of facial recognition. Students will undertake various hands-on programming and image-processing exercises, which leverage popular libraries for facial recognition.
