Collaborative Projects

SAS is actively seeking collaborations with the industry to provide not only internship placements for students but also real-life solutions to problems and to produce actual products for the market in the process.

Here are the collaborations we have had with industry partners.


RP Unity

NTUC Healthcare

This collaboration with NTUC Health Co-operative Limited paves the way for joint initiatives in continuing education, training and research, expanding the range of student learning activities, staff attachments and project collaborations. Since 2011, RP SAS students have served as interns across NTUC Health’s Unity retail pharmacy outlets and serve alongside Unity pharmacists in community health screening exercises.

BASF

BASF

The longstanding collaboration between BASF and RP began in 2008, when the RP-BASF Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory joint lab was first set up. Scores of Pharmaceutical Sciences students and adult learners have honed their skills in pharmaceutical formulation and processing in the lab, engaged in hands-on training as well as research projects and feasibility studies.

Mr Bean

Mr Bean

Another longstanding industry partner, Mr Bean, is set to unveil its new food product “Soy based granola with rice crispies”, developed with RP. Soon to be available at Mr Bean stores islandwide, this healthier option serves as an anytime snack and for consumers who are always on-the-go. The granola bar is a low-calorie, yet nutrient-rich formulation, which uses soy pulp for extra protein and fibre.

Raffles medical -RP interns

Raffles Medical Group

Raffles Medical Group (RMG) provides our RP SAS students internship opportunities at its clinics, pharmacy and laboratory. In addition to a 20-week internship programme, RMG will co-organise events with RP to promote networking and knowledge transfer, and collaborate in final year projects, as well as play a significant role in sponsoring scholarships and other awards for our students.

Parkway Laboratory Services Ltd

Parkway Laboratory Services provides student internships and project collaborations as well as co-organising ECG-related activities for our students.

RR

Rolls Royce

Rolls-Royce provides provide our students with learning opportunities in the area of failure investigation and non-destructive testing (NDT) to further boost their industry-based learning experience. Around 15 students from the Diploma in Materials Science (DMTS) students will undertake internships or final-year projects with Rolls-Royce every year for the next three years, deepening their knowledge of NDT.
