Collaborative Projects

SAS is actively seeking collaborations with the industry to provide not only internship placements for students but also real-life solutions to problems and to produce actual products for the market in the process.

Here are the collaborations we have had with industry partners.

RP Unity

NTUC Healthcare

This collaboration with NTUC Health Co-operative Limited paves the way for joint initiatives in continuing education, training and research, expanding the range of student learning activities, staff attachments and project collaborations. Since 2011, RP SAS students have served as interns across NTUC Health’s Unity retail pharmacy outlets and serve alongside Unity pharmacists in community health screening exercises.

The longstanding collaboration between BASF and RP began in 2008, when the RP-BASF Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory joint lab was first set up. Scores of Pharmaceutical Sciences students and adult learners have honed their skills in pharmaceutical formulation and processing in the lab, engaged in hands-on training as well as research projects and feasibility studies.

Mr Bean

Mr Bean

Another longstanding industry partner, Mr Bean, is set to unveil its new food product “Soy based granola with rice crispies”, developed with RP. Soon to be available at Mr Bean stores islandwide, this healthier option serves as an anytime snack and for consumers who are always on-the-go. The granola bar is a low-calorie, yet nutrient-rich formulation, which uses soy pulp for extra protein and fibre.
