Science Congress is organised every year by the School of Applied Science to celebrate the achievements in science that strive to meet the needs of ever more curious and adventurous consumers.


A Virtual Excursion to the Science Festival 

Interested to find out more about the scientific developments in Singapore? You can view and explore different projects by various institutions and expand your knowledge on how science can help empower our society. For this activity, you will need to complete an activity worksheet after touring the virtual School of Applied Science (SAS) booth and submit a reflection of your experience exploring the Singapore Science Festival.

Be introduced to Urban Agrotechnology and learn how food can be grown indoors to improve resource efficacy and agricultural yield.

4 August - Monoclonal antibodies in medicine

Learn what antibodies do and how these therapeutic proteins can be produced in a Biologics Manufacturing plant.

18 August – How CRISPR lets you edit DNA

Discover the world of genetic engineering by modifying DNA sequences in an organism. The CRISPR technology allows researchers to correct genetic defects, treat diseases, and improve the characteristics of both crops and livestock.

Compounding your own Face Mask

Interested in making your own face mask? You will learn about appropriate mixing and measuring techniques by compounding facial mask using simple household tools (fork, spoon and bowls) and some food ingredients (such as banana, yoghurt, honey, oatmeal and egg).
