Laboratory Diagnosis of Malaria by Microscopy

This course will equip you with the skills to detect and identify malaria parasites through microscopy. Staining methods and parasitaemia counts will also be covered.

Managing Diabetes and Cardiovascular Health

This course will guide you to explore the anatomy and physiology of vital organs, uncover critical nutrients for blood glucose control and heart health, and delve into cutting-edge nutritional research. Anatomy and Physiology

This course allows you to better appreciate the human body’s organised structure. It provides a holistic understanding of biological systems, covering levels of organisation, anatomical directions, and key systems like digestive, circulatory, respiratory, and urinary. You will get to explore how these systems work together to maintain balance, gaining fundamental insights into human anatomy and physiology.

Aseptic Handling Techniques

This course explores aseptic compounding and quality testing of sterile products. You will learn how to prepare total parenteral nutrition, intravenous (IV) admixtures, ophthalmic products, and cytotoxic preparations. Microbiology fundamentals and the different types of quality control tests pertaining to IV/ophthalmic products will also be discussed.

Basis of Drug Action

This course aims to enhance your knowledge in pharmacology. You will explore intricate interactions between drugs and receptors, tracing the journey of drugs from absorption to excretion. The effects of chemicals and biologics on our bodies will also be discussed, along with an exploration of the innovative field of pharmacogenomics.

Biomedical Instrumentation and Systems

This course provides you with the principles, designs and applications of the medical instruments most commonly used in the healthcare industry. Integration of systems through Internet of Things (IoT) and the concept of networking will also be introduced.

Biomedical Sensors and Measurements

Uncover the principles of Biomedical Sensors and Measurement. Gain the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to measure and analyse biological signals for medical applications.

Complementary and Alternative Medicine

This course delves into the dynamic field of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), exploring its evolution and pivotal role in heath. The learning scope covers four major domains of CAM practices. You will also gain insights into the future of CAM, its modernisation, and the regulatory aspects surrounding CAM in Singapore.

Current Good Manufacturing and Laboratory Practices

This course provides you with a thorough understanding of good manufacturing practices in pharmaceutical and related industries. It covers current issues, biomedical practices, and research ethics, exploring manufacturing systems, quality assurance, validation, and regulatory audits. You will also learn about facility design, resource management, total quality management, and intellectual property rights.

Dietary Supplements

This course delves into the exciting realm of dietary supplements. It will build your understanding of their essential roles across various populations, distinct from nutrition and functional foods. Four captivating themes will be explored: essential requirements, key components, balancing intake, and the fascinating aspects of regulation and commercial claims.

Dosage Form Design

This course will help you understand the physiological, physical as well as chemical factors influencing the medication administration route and dosage form design.

Fundamentals of Biomedical Informatics

This course looks into the key basic concepts, tools, and techniques underlying biomedical and healthcare informatics. You will also learn how to use existing data and databases for biological and clinical research.

Good Dispensing Practice

This course aims to empower you with integrated drug knowledge, dispensing, and clinical skills. Through hands-on activities, you will learn to assess prescriptions, make interventions, and provide disease-specific counselling, while ensuring good dispensing practice in pharmacy workflows.

Good Distribution Practices

This course introduces regulatory guidance for the good distribution practices of health products, offering you a deeper appreciation for maintaining industry standards.

Health Products Logistics

This course will equip you with the competencies to manage pharmaceutical supply chains. It will also explore quality assurance, validation, logistics, and challenges faced within the pharmaceutical industry. Regulations and best practices to ensure product integrity will be discussed.

Human Body Systems in Health and Disease

This course explores the details of human anatomy and physiology. You will examine the structures and functions of various organ systems, both in healthy conditions and in instances where they are diseased.

Laboratory Management and Operations

This course, which focuses on diagnostic labs, introduces you to quality and safety management systems that are recommended to ensure efficient operations in laboratory settings.

Medical Imaging

This course introduces the various aspects of medical imaging, image processing, and visualisation. Topics include X-Ray, Magnetic Resonance, Functional Infrared Thermal Imaging and Ultrasonic Imaging, as well as more specialised techniques for dynamic studies of specific body functions.

Non-sterile Compounding

This course will equip you with the competencies to manage pharmaceutical supply chains. It will also explore quality assurance, validation, logistics, and challenges faced within the pharmaceutical industry. Regulations and best practices to ensure product integrity will be discussed.

Pharmaceutical Formulation and Processing

This course delves into the world of pharmaceutical formulation and processing, allowing you to master the art of creating oral drugs – from excipient roles to advanced techniques like milling and coating. Upon completion, you will be well equipped to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and reliability of drug delivery systems.

Pharmaceutical Legislation

This course takes you on a journey through Singapore’s regulatory landscape, exploring key acts that govern medicine distribution, sales, and usage. You will master the essentials of medicines regulations, enabling you to stay ahead in the healthcare industry.

Pharmacotherapeutics

This course enables you to explore the dynamic realm of primary healthcare pharmacotherapy. You will gain expertise in over-the-counter drug treatments, interpretation of drug information, and patient education. Additionally, you will develop essential skills for managing common ailments, applying your knowledge in practical settings.

Pharmacotherapeutics II

Principles of Histotechnology and Cytotechnology
