Celine Chin, Diploma in Materials Science student, was presented with a prize cheque of S$1,000 for her winning entry titled New Era
This is the first 3D food printing competition with the theme of ‘Digital Gastronomy’ in Singapore. Three teams of two students from Republic Polytechnic's (RP) School of Engineering (SEG) and School of Applied Science (SAS) were nominated to compete among 14 teams in the ‘Local Polytechnic Student’ category.
Two teams from RP, ‘Fuel Food’ and ‘New Era’, advanced to the Final Round and won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. ‘New Era’ also received the FRANK Best Taste Design Award.
During this competition, the students collaborated and applied their knowledge in food science and engineering design, which they acquired from their studies at SAS and SEG respectively in RP.
