At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, temperature taking became a new norm. IntelliGuard is a contactless system that automatically records the temperature of any person who enters a facility. Its features include: 

  • Allowing user profile registration through a mobile app 
  • Utilising facial recognition to restrict access to protected areas
  • Seamlessly validating a user’s identity, while collecting other information like temperature, location, date and time, to make contact-tracing a breeze
  • Improving security by automatically recording when a user leaves the premise

Team PPET

It is often hard to tell whether a pet is feeling unwell. By the time symptoms appear, it can already be too late. PPET enables pet owners to remotely monitor their pets in real-time and receive critical advice on managing pet health. Its features include: 

  • Logging of vital data such as temperature and bowel abnormalities, which will be analysed to provide early detection of illness.
  • A platform for pet owners to form a community to discuss health-related topics in relation to their pets.

Automation of Student Overseas Trip (SOT) Management

Organising overseas trips for students can be a laborious effort, requiring deep attention to detail. The Student Overseas Trip (SOT) management system automates many of the tasks undertaken by key stakeholders such as Heads of Departments, Administrators and Trip Leaders. Its features include: 

  • Processing a trip itinerary to automatically generate trip proposals which can be sent to vendors to request for quotations.

  • Quotation information is automatically transmitted into the database, thus eliminating manual tasks like data entry and costs calculation.

Searching for semiconductor tools and machines online can be a very manual process. Too much time is spent transferring search results to spreadsheets, analysing the data and then contacting a potential supplier. Because of the long process, tools can become unavailable. The Procuring Tools WebApp (PTW) automatically transfers search results to a database so that information is available on-demand. Its features include: 

  • Identifying the relevant website offering specific semi-tools/machines. 

  • Quotation information is automatically transmitted into the database, thus eliminating manual tasks like data entry and costs calculation.

Mediated Learning Environment Systems (MILES)

To learn effectively, students must be given a distraction-free environment. Such an environment can be provided in three phases: 

The Mediated Learning Environment Systems (MILES) utilises AI to monitor the cognitive state of students through real-time EEG readings, and automatically optimise the environment for effective learning. Smart features include: 

  • Control ambient lighting, audio and scent diffuser. 

  • Control of music playback and notifications on mobile devices to improve mental preparedness. 

  • EEG readings are stored as data, and can be used by teachers to improve learning materials.

An Information System for Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science (DPHM)

There is a growing demand for pharmaceutical sciences students to be equipped with the necessary practical skills and knowledge to run business operations in hospitals, polyclinics and retail pharmacies.

This project builds an information system that supports business operations in healthcare settings. Utilising MS MVC .NET for frontend and MS SQL for backend data storage, system features include: 

  • Automated queue management.

  • Medicine dispensation, as well as the ability to generate medicine usage reports.

  • Automated medication stock-checking.
