The leap from ITE to RP was more than an academic transition - it was the turning point in Dean Mikhail’s life. Once plagued by self-doubt, he found his stride in RP’s supportive, hands-on environment, proving that transformation begins with courage and a willingness to try.
In ITE, he struggled with the belief that he wasn’t “studious enough.” Despite his fascination with technology and hours spent tinkering on computers, he felt his potential was limited. “I didn’t do well in O-Levels and in ITE, so I thought I wasn’t capable,” he shares.
But enrolling in RP’s Diploma in Digital Design and Development (DDDD) changed everything. With a curriculum centred on coding, front-end design, and UI/UX, the programme aligned perfectly with his newfound passion for IT, sparked by a simple coding tutorial video. “I fell in love with the process,” he recalls.
RP’s problem-based learning and collaborative projects gave him the confidence to thrive. Working in small, collaborative groups was perfect for him, and building his personal portfolio website became a defining achievement. “Seeing the final product and knowing I built it myself assured me this was the right path,” he says.
Now equipped with practical skills in web and mobile app development and a renewed confidence in his abilities, his message to others is simple: “Come in with an open mind, embrace the challenges, and don’t be afraid to fail.” His journey proves that with the right support, anyone can unlock their potential.
