Capping off October with a huge congratulations to our School of Infocomm (SOI) students for their outstanding performance at the AI Innovation Hackathon 2025!
Organised by the University of Glasgow, Singapore, the hackathon brought together polytechnic students to build AI-powered solutions that boost economic resilience and workplace productivity.
1st Prize Winner!
A massive shout-out to Chew Jiayi, Year 2 student from Diploma in Digital Design & Development (now known as Diploma in Information Technology) for clinching the Top Prize!
Jiayi, alongside teammates from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, designed an innovative AI-driven recruitment solution to enhance hiring efficiency and workplace productivity — a perfect example of cross-polytechnic collaboration and creativity.
“The hackathon inspired me to keep using my IT skills to create innovative solutions that benefit people and industries.” — Chew Jiayi
2nd Prize Secured!
We are also incredibly proud of Stephanie Ong Li Xuen, Rachel Phoon Yu En, and Ng Shi Ning, for securing the Second Prize!
In total, four of our 13 participating SOI students walked away as winners — proving that RP innovation truly knows no boundaries! They didn’t just attend; they rapidly prototyped, collaborated under pressure, and presented complex ideas — all vital skills for their future careers in tech.
We’re immensely proud of all our students for representing RP with excellence, creativity, and the spirit of innovation!
