Sustainable Built Environment Laboratory

The Sustainable Built Environment Laboratory (SBEL), completed in November 2019, aims to equip students from the Diploma in Sustainable Built-Environment (DSBE) with a better understanding of modern green building developments. Sited on the rooftop of Republic Polytechnic Industry Centre, the 80 sqm facility provides a conducive space for staff and students from DSBE to carry out learning and research activities in green building technologies in an outdoor setting in collaboration with industry partners.

For more details on SBEL , please feel free to take a look at the article on SBEL contributed by the Singapore Green Building Council, (SGBC) at the link!

RP-LTA Rail Operations Management Lab

RP-LTA Rail Operations Management Lab

The RP-LTA Rail Operations Management Lab is modelled after the Rapid Transit Systems (RTS) Operation Control Centre (OCC) for the urban rail lines, which is usually located within the train depot. A first of its kind facility in an institute of higher learning, it uses Training Simulator Software to provide students with an authentic and immersive learning experience in the Rail Operations Management, Transportation Facilities Planning and Design modules. Through the learning facility, students from the Diploma in Engineering Systems & Management will be well-placed to become urban transport professionals and railway engineers sought-after by the industry.

Intelligent Robotic Automation Lab

Intelligent Robotic Automation Lab

The Intelligent Robotic Automation Lab (IRA Lab) is a unique facility for students, staff and industry partners to investigate, demonstrate and jointly develop new technologies in Industrial Internet of Things, and Smart adaptive robotics systems and collaboration. It is well-equipped with a range of industrial robots, cobots, and autonomous mobile robots with strong support from industry partners in the robotics and automation field. The IRA Lab also supports project development, curriculum and research work in intelligent robotics applications and automation.

Robotic Innovation Lab

Robotic Innovation Lab

The Robotic Innovation Lab (RIL) provides conducive environment and facilities for staff and students to engage in robotics projects for industry collaboration as well as for participation in robotic competitions. The lab has software for PCB design and mechanical drawing. It is also equipped with basic mechanical tools and equipment for robotic experiment and exploration.

RP-FLUKE Energy Audit Lab

RP-FLUKE Energy Audit Lab

The RP-FLUKE Energy Audit lab is a joint lab between FLUKE and RP. The lab is an initiative to support both academic development as well as collaboration projects with the industry in the area of energy management and audit, as well as power quality analysis.

Smart Devices Lab

Smart Devices Lab

The Smart Devices Lab is the Flagship Lab of DEEE which aims to promote innovative ideas creation and to incubate ideas/product realisation. It provides an opportunity for students and staff to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to design and develop the hardware, software, and firmware of the digital technologies to support the Internet of Things (IoT).
