SEG’s Bests
Featuring some of our accomplished alumni
Zavier was the recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science, the Changi Airport Group Gold Medal Award, the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Gold Medal and the Module Prizes in Airport Management and Airport Planning and Design.
An exemplary student, Zavier graduates as the top student of his cohort with a GPA of 4.0. He was inducted into the Director’s Roll of Honour for five semesters. Zavier was also a recipient of the RP Scholarship, Lee Foundation Scholarship and the REPUBLIC Award.
Beyond academics, Zavier actively engages in student life activities, participating in various events such as the Pre-University Seminar 2022 and the Asia-Ready Exposure Programme by the National Youth Council. He took part in the Bebras SG 2022 Computational Thinking Competition where he received the bronze award. Zavier also serves as a Rover Scout with the Black Knights Open Scout Unit and is a member of the North Area Venture Council and the Air Scouts Council.
To unwind, Zavier enjoys basketball for its camaraderie and sense of belonging.
Cheng Thiam was the recipient of awards such as Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Gold Medal. In addition, he was the recipient of the Lee Foundation Scholarship and REPUBLIC Award in AY2020.
Cheng Thiam served as the Diploma Ambassador and Peer Support Leader where he volunteered his service, organised events for his peers and helped his juniors with their studies. He strongly believes in giving back to the community, and has participated in RP’s Food Donation Drive organised in collaboration with NTUC FairPrice and Fei Yue Community Services.
Being an independent learner and having displayed proficiency in hands-on skills, Cheng Thiam was selected to represent RP in WorldSkills Singapore 2020. He won the Gold Medal in his skill area of Information Network Cabling for his outstanding performance.
