Ling Jun Wei

Ling Jun Wei

Diploma in Aerospace Engineering 
2023 Graduate

Jun Wei was the recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Award, the ST Engineering Gold Medal Award, Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Gold Medal, the Module Prize in ‘Aircraft Hardware’ and graduated with the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering with Merit.  

Jun Wei is an accomplished individual who has excelled both academically and in his co-curricular activities. He has demonstrated his leadership skills as an active peer support leader and student leader in the School of Engineering. In recognition of his contribution to service learning in organisations such as Willing Hearts, Project Care Kids, Youth Corps and the Community Chest, he was awarded the Republic Polytechnic's Engineering In Community Medal Award in 2022.

Jun Wei's passion for engineering and problem-solving has led him to participate in several tertiary competitions, including the ASEAN Geospatial Challenge, International Space Challenge, and Global Navigation Satellite System Innovation Challenge. His team was awarded the 'Merit' award for the ASEAN Geospatial Challenge.  


Chee Wei En

Chee Wei En 

Diploma in Aviation management 
2022 Graduate

Wei En was the recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science.

An exemplary student, Wei En received the Republic Polytechnic Scholarship in 2020 and Lee Foundation Scholarship in 2021.

Passionate in giving back to the community, Wei En served as a Peer Support Leader at RP. Outside RP, Wei En participates actively in voluntary work with many local organisations such as Willing Hearts, Food from the Heart, The Food Bank Singapore, Care Corner Counselling Centre, and Rainbow Centre.

In recognition of Wei En’s leadership ability as well as his dedication towards youth and community service, Wei En attained the National Youth Achievement Gold Award in 2021. And for his service and outstanding achievements in RP, he was awarded the Service Excellence Award and the REPUBLIC Award.


JENSEN LIM HAN WEI

Jensen Lim Han Wei

Diploma in Aviation Management
2022 Graduate

Jensen was the recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science. He was also inducted into the Director’s Roll of Honour for four semesters and received four Module Prizes for his outstanding academic performance.

Jensen has always been fascinated by all things related to aviation. It has always been his dream to be flying an aircraft and to attain a Pilot Licence. His dream was fulfilled as he was selected to intern with the Singapore Youth Flying Club where he received his Private Pilot Licence.

In tandem with his academic achievements, Jensen captained the Athletics Interest Group, and represented RP in the 51st Singapore Athletics Interclub Championship in the 3,000 metres Steeplechase. Jensen also represented RP in POLITE Games in 2019 for the 400 metres Hurdles


Chew Cheng Thiam

Chew Cheng Thiam

Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
2021 Graduate

Cheng Thiam was the recipient of awards such as Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Gold Medal. In addition, he was the recipient of the Lee Foundation Scholarship and REPUBLIC Award in AY2020.

Cheng Thiam served as the Diploma Ambassador and Peer Support Leader where he volunteered his service, organised events for his peers and helped his juniors with their studies. He strongly believes in giving back to the community, and has participated in RP’s Food Donation Drive organised in collaboration with NTUC FairPrice and Fei Yue Community Services.

Being an independent learner and having displayed proficiency in hands-on skills, Cheng Thiam was selected to represent RP in WorldSkills Singapore 2020. He won the Gold Medal in his skill area of Information Network Cabling for his outstanding performance.


Agape Sim Congyi

Agape Sim Congyi

Diploma in Engineering Design with Business
2021 Graduate

Agape scored 9 distinctions out of 24 in total, 2 of which was module prize in Innovation & Design Thinking and Sales Management. He have also won 2 RP Scholarships and was awarded the Director’s Roll of Honour for all 5 academic semester.

He participated in a few competitions. Under design & tech category, individually, he claimed the runner-up title representing RP in the 3D Printing and Design Innovation competition 2020 held by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) under the Healthcare Assistive Devices theme. Under entrepreneurial category, in teams, they have won 2nd place for the Pushcart competition 2019 held by RP and won 2nd place for the iDare Entrepreneurial Challenge 2021 held by RP.


Lim Zhi Wei

Lim Zhi Wei

Diploma in Engineering Systems & Management
2021 Graduate

Zhi Wei achieved several awards during his 3 years in RP. He won the Public Transport Book Prize in 2019, Lee Foundation Scholarship in 2020 and Director’s Roll of Honour in 4 consecutive semesters. He was also given opportunity to represent RP School of Engineering to compete in Rapid Transit Systems (RTS) skills area of the WorldSkills Singapore (WSS) 2020. Together with his team mate, they won RP’s first medal and first Gold in the WSS2020.

He was awarded the Best Innovation Award 2020 during Entrepreneurial Immersion Programme Bootcamp 2020. In addition, he won the third prize of the HDB Cool Ideas Hackathon 2020 with collaboration from like-minded students across another faculty. In 2019, he led a team to Champion in the RP Renesas Grand Prix Open Category where their micro-controller car won the race in the shortest time.
